i just finished watching “the kite runner” one of my favorite books by author Khaled Hossseini. the book is by far one of the most moving novels i have ever read. now, this aint no book report, dont get me wrong. but after watching the movie, (which of course like any other movie based on a book cant even hold a candle to the book itself) i couldnt help my mind from going off into thoughts circulating the book and the message conveyed in it. it still amazes me the impact writing can have over ones emotions. its one of the few books that no matter how many times i read it, i still find myself crying like a little bitch. the imagery and emotion pours off the page. i wont go into details, just a brief, quick, straight to the point summary for you. its a story of a boy in Afghanistan who betrays his best friend as a kid (whom he later as an adult finds is his half brother) and lives with the regret of doing so, but finally has the opportunity to redeem himself as an adult. all the while having to endure the violent life in afghanistan with the rise of the taliban regime. it kills me to know that so many people in this world are deprived with the birth given right to simply live a life free from fear of losing either their life, or the lives of their loved ones to a control freak with an ak and a uniform. i can not even begin to fathom a life of constant gunshots, bomb explosives, raids and searches, and killing. and what concerns me is the fact that most people dont even know nor care so much as to educate themselves about what is happening in the world. i understand we all have work, school, and our personal lives, but put shit into perspective. next time when u find yourself bitching about missing an episode of daisy of love, or complaining about how hard life is cuz your boyfriend of 3 months just dumped u and u cant go on, realize how lucky u truly are. dont get me wrong, i know i can be a baby sometimes and complain about some facetious shit, and sometimes thats okay. but on the real, ive got it damn good and for those of you who actually took the time to read this, im sure you do too. do us all a favor and educate youself. it doesnt take long to turn on the news or read articles online. i urge you to seek out other forms of media out there as well that u may not be familiar with. many of the sources we are exposed to tend to be biased, and its always good to hear the other side of a story. i fear for my generation. it seems many of us are so caught up with the superficial bullshit, and no ones cares anymore. i often get from my friends that i care TOO much. i usually get this when i lecture them about not voting and nag the shit out of them. however, maybe you should just care more. 

this post was pretty different from my typical music or sports posting, but i felt it necessary to do so. if you have a problem with it, i could give a fuck less.
